This programme was started in 2017 at Bihar Niwas in New Delhi. When officers of NACS under the visionary leadership of Shri BK Prasad. (1983 Batch IAS) realized that selection of Civil Servants from Bihar and Jharkhand is decreasing every year, then it was thought to provide Interview Guidance to the candidates appearing in Interview of Civil Services examination. The Resident Commissioner of Bihar Bhawan, Shri Vipin Kumar, IAS candidly agreed to the proposal of NACS and offered space in Bihar Niwas. Thus started the Interview Guidance Programme popularly known as IGP.
The IGP starts right after the prelims result. After the prelims result of IAS conducted by UPSC is declared the candidates are provided one day work shop on how to fill Detailed Application Form (DAF) which is filled up by those candidates appearing for Mains examination. This DAF forms the basis of the interview at later state and hence it is important to know how and what has to be filled up in DAF.
During this one day workshop, senior officers of NACS interacts with the aspirants and guide them how the DAF has to be filled up.
But the real IGP starts after the declaration of Mains result. A panel of NACS officers conduct IGP in which all the candidates are provided individual guidance for the interview including one-to-one mock session and specific classes on state, optional subject and hobbies. The entire IGP is free of cost and the day to day expenditure is borne by NACS offices or mutual contribution basis.
